There are 3 groups of pens stay separately:
- 2 of them are 2 pens separately;
- and 1 of them is the group of 2 pens staying together like one is enclosed by another one.
With 3 groups like these, we can arrange pigs in many ways such as 1-1-7, 3-3-3, 3-5-1, etc.
How do you put nine pigs in four pens so that each pen contains an odd number of pigs?
It is not possible to put nine pigs in four pens so that each pen contains an odd number of pigs.
The only way to do it is through trickery.
DUH!!.2.5 pigs in each pen is the only answer. it doesn't say anything about fractions.
Easy enough.
Just put the pigs in the first pen, then put that pen inside the next pen, etc.
The last pen will contain a pen that contains a pen that contains a pen that contains 9 pigs, but all 4 pens will contain 9 pigs.
You could also put 3 pigs each in 3 pens, and put those 3 pens inside the bigger pen.

1 pig in the first pen
1 pig in the second pen
2 pigs in the third pen
5 pigs in the fourth pen
1+1+2+5=9
simple!
umm, two is an even number. ^
ok, so this is the easiest way possible. 3 pens are first. put 3 pigs in each. Then there is another pen. It is around all of the pens! DUH!
I only 12 and I know that!
you could put 1 pig in the first pen, 3 pigs in the second pen, 1and 5 pigs in the fourth pen.
1 plus 3 plus 5 = 9; then put the three pens inside the 4th pen.
1
3
5 = 9
oooops, I put "1and 5 pigs," I meant just 5 pigs in the third pen.
So, what is the final answer?
