Four Goes Into Eighteen

A reader asks:

"How do you create a sum of eighteen using four numbers repeating none of them?"

This one should be pretty simple, can you figure it out?

  1. 2 + 3 + 4 + 9 = 18

    1 + 2 + 3 + 12 = 18

    plenty more combinations....

This is a fun site but I cannot find answers to a lot of puzzles other than reading the comments if any. I wish the authors would post solutions.

  2. Skott brings up a nice twist to the problem: Can you find four different positive odd numbers that sum to 18?

I can find only one solution to this problem, can you find it too?
