5 Times 2 = 7?

Using only basic arithmetic operations make 7 out of five '2's.

2    2    2    2    2 = 7

You can use '+', '-', 'x', or '÷' between the '2's.

  1. you cant use parenthesis,, you should solve it directly,, the right answer is

    2÷2+2+2+2 = 7

MDAS Rule!! Multiply first then Divide then add the Subtract

  2. It doesn't say there has to be an operator between every number. In that case an alternative solution is 22 / 2 - 2 - 2 = 7.

    22/2 = 11. Minus 2 = 9. Minus 2 = 7.

    Conforms to MDAS too.

  3. 2*2*2-(2/2) is still
2*2*2-2/2 without the parentheses and still works under MDAS.

  4. Order of operations is important here. PEMDAS. multiply divide add subtract. 2/2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 7
